The Saguaro, Palm Springs

Whether you come for the sun, the air, the spas, the style or the natural beauty, there's an undeniable appeal to this oasis of desert modern in the Coachella Valley.

Now there's a new place to lay your head while soaking it all up. The Saguaro opens in February 2012, bringing with it elevated design, delicious food and simple comfort. If you ever needed another reason to escape here, you have one now.

Bright. Light. Colorful. The rooms at the Saguaro immerse you in the desert resort experience that is Palm Springs. Choose your view — mountain, garden courtyard with pool, or city lights. Nearly every room has a balcony or patio and is accented inside and out by the brilliant color of a native Mojave wildflower, creating a visual spectrum of light throughout the grounds. No one perspective is the same.

Guestrooms offer at least 275 square feet of living space and include sitting areas, work stations, hand-crafted, imported Mexican furniture, as well as luxury bath products and linens. The brilliant, desert-inspired color scheme is shared by your indoor and outdoor space and adds to your experience. Feel free to request a color depending on your mood.

There are certain standards by which a visit to Palm Springs is judged. Such as pool time and the scenery that goes with it, the quality of architecture and design, and perhaps most importantly, the ability to enjoy the desert landscape and air, preferably with cocktail in hand. By all accounts, the Saguaro has you more than covered.

A touch of old Hollywood glamour. Perhaps the best golf and spas in the west. Groundbreaking mid-century modern architecture. A party circuit unrivaled for its inclusiveness. There is only one Palm Springs, that's for sure. The Saguaro puts you right in the middle of it, just off famed Palm Canyon Drive a mile from downtown. Yet, in true Palm Springs fashion, a stay here is also about privacy and relaxation.

El Jefe is a cool celebration of the culture and cuisine of Mexico City, with a menu focused on the cuisine of what is known by locals as the "Distrito Federal.” With a premium tequila bar and lounge seating, El Jefe is a muted backdrop for Chef Garces' modern Mexican small plates.

Chef

He’s one of the country’s most talented young chefs, winner of the Food Network’s Iron Chef America and a James Beard award. His food draws crowds in Philly, Chi-Town, Scottsdale, and now Palm Springs.

Rocco Forte Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi – NOW OPEN

A STRIKING URBAN LANDMARK
A vision of gleaming glass rising high above the city, Rocco Forte Hotels’ newest property stands out among the luxury hotels in Abu Dhabi. A striking new landmark in the emirate, the Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi is built from curved glass and its wavy structure – with not a single straight line in sight – is an architectural masterpiece. Up close, the blue and green glass panels create a breathtaking mosaic effect, mirroring the colours of the Arabian Gulf.
Sir Rocco Forte has years of experience running highly individual luxury hotels throughout Europe, earning Rocco Forte Hotels a reputation for exceptional service and design. The Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi brings European sophistication to the city and is focussed on offering guests the very best service in the emirate.
Step inside and the interior is unlike any other hotel in Abu Dhabi. Olga Polizzi, who oversees the design of all Rocco Forte Hotels properties, has blended European and Middle Eastern styles to create a look that is sophisticated and modern, yet sumptuous in detail. Bespoke works by local artists adorn the walls; richly patterned fabrics give each of the bedrooms a stylish authenticity; the finest materials sourced from all over the world are used throughout.
Renowned for its five-star service and facilities, Rocco Forte Hotels focuses on the finer details. Every one of the hotel’s 281 spacious bedrooms is state of the art, with LCD flat screen TV, iPod dock, large marble and limestone bathroom and luxurious furnishings. Rooms and suites on the exclusive Executive Floor offer complimentary access to the 8th floor Executive Lounge and a dedicated concierge service.  The hotel’s spectacular, individually designed Presidential and Royal Suites each have a large, private terrace.
Conveniently situated in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the hotel is within easy reach of the airport, the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre and the city’s key attractions. Explore the islands, coast and beaches, visit local places of interest, such as the nearby Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, and sample the world-class sporting opportunities, including equestrian centres, golf courses and Ferrari World, the world’s largest indoor theme park. If shopping is a priority, there is a luxury mall next door. The hotel also provides a complimentary shuttle service to other popular malls nearby.
The restaurants and bars at the Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi are destinations in themselves. Blue, on the 6th floor of the hotel’s 11 storey, all-glass atrium, is a cocktail bar that appears, from the outside, to be suspended mid-air.  The talented culinary team have overseen the menus at Oceana Grill and Oro – the hotel’s authentic Italian restaurant – to ensure a first-class dining experience.
Spend a blissful few hours in the hotel’s large luxury spa, which has separate facilities for men and women and an authentic Moroccan Hammam, or work out in the Health Club, fitted with the latest Technogym equipment. Outdoors, the 25m pool is the perfect place to take a dip before basking in the desert sun.

Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi Rooms and Suites

Nowhere is the Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi’s unique style more evident than in its 281 rooms and suites. Furnishings, hand-picked by Olga Polizzi, have been chosen for their design and comfort. Like other Rocco Forte Hotels, the elegant interiors are inspired by the region, with rich colours, ornate patterns and sensuous materials used throughout. Among the most beautifully appointed luxury rooms and suites in Abu Dhabi, bespoke works by local artists hang on the walls and the Arabic expression “may it rain on our desert” is inscribed above the bath.
Stylishly comfortable, state-of-the-art facilities include LCD flat screen TVs, Wi-Fi access, an iPod docking station, a Nespresso coffee machine and a large marble and limestone bathroom, with a separate shower and  bath.
Suites
Much more than a place to sleep, every suite at the Rocco Forte Hotel Abu Dhabi is beautifully designed and spacious, accompanied by exclusive benefits and services of the Rocco Forte Suite Experience. Many suites can be combined with adjacent rooms to form a larger personal space. Suite guests also enjoy complimentary access to the Executive Lounge and a dedicated personalised concierge service. The magnificent Presidential and Royal Suites each have separate living and dining rooms, a guest powder room and a butler kitchen, luxurious bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, two large, private terraces and butler service.
Executive Floor
The 38 rooms and suites on the hotel’s Executive Floor are designed especially for business travellers. They include free access to the Executive Lounge and its services: Wi-Fi access, complimentary breakfast, light snacks in the afternoon, evening drinks and hors d’oeuvres, secretarial assistance and use of a meeting room on the 8th floor. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, by day Oceana Grill is a relaxed venue, with a choice of à la carte dining and a delicious buffet of freshly prepared international dishes. As the sun sets, the ground-floor restaurant – set in the hotel’s stunning glass atrium – is transformed into an intimate space in which to enjoy seafood fresh from the ocean.
At Oro, one of the finest contemporary Italian restaurants in Abu Dhabi, the innovative menu reflects new trends in fine Italian restaurant cuisine. Interior designed by Martin Brudnizki and Olga Polizzi in an Art Deco style, the 360-degree bar makes it a sociable venue for lunch or dinner.
Ultra-modern and extremely stylish, Rouge, the best Chinese and Japanese restaurant in Abu Dhabi, serves delicious contemporary Asian cuisine. For lighter meals, enjoy traditional English and Arabic Afternoon Tea or discover the All Day Menu at Brown’s Tea Lounge. Alternatively, grab a bite to eat at the relaxed Pool Bar & Terrace.

For pre- or post-dinner drinks, Blue is the most sophisticated cocktail bar in Abu Dhabi. Architecturally astonishing, from outside it appears to be floating within the hotel’s 11-storey glass atrium. Washington School House, Park City, Utah

The Washington School House is absolutely stunning.

Oh. You need more? Okay, then. The Washington School House is an iconic historic landmark located in Park City, Utah. Nearing completion of a total interior renovation (think gutted to the studs), this fabulously preserved 1889 limestone gem will reopen in December 2011. The concept? Simple, really. To provide a level of chic sophistication to a discerning traveler that is outside the box. Literally, since our hotel isn’t in a box. It is in a re-purposed, architecturally revered building. This one-of-kind discriminating attitude applies to everything – down to those aforementioned studs. We got lucky. The building is fantastic. We made it a little more fantastic by terracing an outdoor pool/spa into the hillside. And let’s talk about the location. In the heart of historic Park City, basking in mountain-urban swank of remarkable dining, shopping and après-ski all within blocks. The design of the twelve suites and rooms – unrivaled. The finishes? Exceptional. We particularly LOVE the reclaimed oak barn wood floors, locally quarried Utah quartzite, and mountain ice-white marble in the baths. The furnishings you ask? We have curated a collection of European antiques, vintage modern paintings, crystal chandeliers, silver flatware and serving pieces and… took a little time to create a few custom pieces of our own. We might have to pry you out of your room to get you on the mountain. (Don’t worry, it’s an empty threat. We can’t really bring ourselves to leave, either.) We do, however, expect you to relax. And enjoy. Our staff is prepared to exceed your expectations. Our chef has crafted a menu featuring a modern and organic approach to classic American fare. Breakfast is unavoidable. Après-ski fare fireside in our chic ski lounge is nearly mandatory. Our ski valet is at your service. Prepare to be delighted.

Accommodations

Built in 1889 with locally quarried limestone, the Washington School House has been a Park City icon for well over a century. The recent renovation to restore its historical authenticity while re-imagining the stunning interior was a brilliant feat of design savvy. The result? Nothing short of genius. The design team crafted twelve suites and rooms within the original structure, creating space that is truly breathtaking. The team’s vigilant attention to finish detail coupled with the pursuit of all things excellent is a welcome relief. The concept is simple, really. Total luxury. Good taste. A judicious use of color. Exquisite fabrics, fine artwork and a carefully curated collection of antiques. Don’t let the sighs of superb satisfaction and quiet exclamations of “Oh, thank goodness” surprise you. It’s just that perfect.

 Experience

Prepare to be surprised and delighted. The historic building itself is an indulgent retreat. Our carefully curated collections are inspiring. Be overwhelmed in the living room by the 10ft tall antique mirror from an opera house in the south of France and the VERY large antler chandelier – lacquered in white and layered with crystals. And we haven’t even mentioned the views. Or the location – walk out to the town lift, ski in (well, within a few hundred yards). Immerse yourself in Park City history – and our pool, cut into the hillside amid aspens and blue spruce. Enjoy original culinary dishes from our private chef. Luxuriate in your room, piled in white Pratesi linens, down feather bed and pillows. Have a drink in our chic ski lounge. Fireside. Let us wait on you. Don’t get up. Really. We got this.

 Activities

Not that you’re ever going to want to leave us, but in the rare case you must… we have a few ideas. If it’s cold, think snow – as in snow ski, snowboard, snow tube, snowmobile, snowshoe. You can also fly-fish, ice skate, or catch a ride in a sleigh, hot air balloon, helicopter or luge (you know, the usual modes of transportation). If it’s warm – swim, bike, hike. Bobsled, fish, hunt. Golf, run, ride (horse, boat, jet ski, kayak, river raft). There are also big-city caliber museums, galleries, spas, salons, dining and shopping all within walking distance in our awesome little town. Okay, so maybe that was more than a few ideas. We’re not trying to get rid of you. Honestly. Blame Park City for all your options. Or, ignore them all and sit by the fire in the lounge, or in the pool on the back terrace or in your bed with the Pratesi linens. Tough choice, we know.

  Groups

Fly-fishing surgeons. Snowboarding editors. Cat-skiing producers. You've come to the right place. You can take the whole place. Or not. Private meeting room. Private chef. Private place. Let us know what you need for any group, any time of year. Family reunion? Sure... but let us warn you, they're going to want to come back with you next year.

We are now taking reservations for our end-of-December opening and beyond. Give us a call. We can't wait to talk to you. We know you will love this place as much as we do.

9545 Restaurant

Garnering its name from its elevated perch of 9545 feet above sea level, 9545 is The Inn at Lost Creek’s Southwest style bistro.  9545 has a relaxed atmosphere and the best outdoor patio vantage point for concerts in the summer and après hot toddies in the winter.

Breakfast features classic dishes and crave-worthy chef signatures, while lunch and dinner pay homage to everything South of Telluride - from Arizona to Mexico and into South America with the flavors of chilies, coriander, cumin and cilantro playfully woven into unexpected and delicious creations.
