Cox & Kings Take Golf to New Heights in Nepal

Tour operator Cox & Kings announces a Private Travel Journey like no other--"Nepal: A Golfer's High." This Nepal tour brings golfing enthusiasts by helicopter to play two holes of golf at 14,500 feet in the Everest region, with Mt. Everest serving as a backdrop.

The return helicopter trip flies over Gokyo Lake, Everest and Amadablan base camps, with a short stop at Lukla. Accompanying guests on the private flight is a Mt. Everest summiteer, who will point out the surrounding mountaintops and provide insight into the traditions and challenges of conquering these inhospitable peaks. Guests will also have the opportunity to play 17 holes at the golf course located in the former royal family’s hunting reserve, surrounded by the Himalayas. Prior to the game, and to bring good luck, local monks will hold a special "blessing of the golf clubs" ceremony.

On this 4 night, 5 day program, guests will also tour the famous Kathmandu Valley including the Durbar Square, the ancient temple complex of Bodinath, and the medieval town of Bhaktapur where artisans practice their native crafts. Also among the highlights: the Patan Museum, Nyatapola Temple, the Palace of Fifty-Five Windows with its famous Barking Bell, and the Golden Gate--considered by many to be the most beautiful and richly molded gate of its kind in Asia.

Cox & Kings uses French manufactured Ecureuil helicopters that accommodate 2 guests for all helicopter journeys in Nepal. Views of the Himalayas and flying conditions are at their best from October to the end of April.

The journey is priced from $9,570 per person double occupancy, including full board. "Nepal: A Golfer's High" may be easily added to a longer Cox & Kings Travel Journey to India or Bhutan.

Founded by Richard Cox in London, 1758, Cox & Kings is the longest running travel company in the world. Specialists in both small group and private, customized tours, their Exquisite Cultural & Wildlife Adventures cover Africa, Asia & Pacific, India & Beyond, Latin America, and Arabia & Northern Africa.
