The St. Regis Bangkok is announced the appointment of key executives to spearhead the opening of the first St. Regis hotel in Thailand on April 1, 2011.
The St. Regis Bangkok has named Andreas Oberoi as General Manager, Guenter H. Gebhard as Hotel Manager, Henry P. Sears as Director of Rooms, Holger Jakobs as Director of Sales and Marketing, Leonardo Concezzi as Executive Chef, Matthias Berger as Director of Finance, Chayanuch Chudhabuddhi as Director of Human Resources and Piya Suntornvipart as Director of Engineering, and Gerald Hanna as Director of Residences. Leaders in their respective fields from around the globe, the new team members bring expertise and talent to propel The St. Regis Bangkok to the forefront among competing luxury hotels and residences.
Andreas Oberoi has been appointed General Manager to The St. Regis Bangkok where he will be introducing the St. Regis Brand to Thailand. Oberoi brings with him an impressive resume of over 25 years in major destinations around the world. He comes to Bangkok from Starwood’s European luxury resort, Hotel Romazzino Porto Cervo, where he was General Manager. Prior to this, Oberoi opened the renowned The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort in Spain. It is the same resort at which he began his career with Starwood Hotels, and under his leadership The St. Regis Mardavall Majorca Resort became one of the top performing hotels in the European Division of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
Guenter H. Gebhard stepped into the role of Hotel Manager at The St. Regis Bangkok where his main responsibilities will be overseeing all operations. Guenter brings with him over 20 years of experience in major cities around the globe. He joins the St. Regis team from his current position as Executive Assistant Manager at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Director of Operations at Jumeirah Group based in Dubai. Over the past five years he oversaw the Food and Beverage operations of twenty-two restaurants, as well as the development of six new restaurants. There, among other accolades, he helped acquire the title of “Best Restaurant of the Year” by Esquire magazine.
The St. Regis Bangkok has named Leonardo Concezzi Executive Chef. As such, Chef Concezzi is tasked with menu design, food promotion and food decoration as well as food hygiene and food safety for all of the restaurants. He arrives at The St. Regis Bangkok after three years as Executive Chef at Fortevillage in Sardinia, Italy where he managed and oversaw all operations including 100 chefs cooking up to 4,500 food covers per day. Prior to Fortevillage, Chef Concezzi worked for top-rated luxury hotels around the globe, most notably the Four Seasons Resort Damascus, as Chef de Cuisine and Executive Sous Chef. At the Four Seasons Damascus, Chef Concezzi held the Executive Sous Chef position in which he supported the Executive Chef in implementing new menus, ideas and concepts, as well as staff training and product research for the resort’s three restaurants and three lounges.
Located on the prestigious Rajadamri Road in the heart of the city, The St. Regis Bangkok is located in the city’s key commercial corridor, worldwide corporate offices, magnificent high-end shopping and Lumphini Park, with BTS skytrain connection link to the station. Occupying levels 12-24 of a 47-story building that includes 176 guest rooms, 51 suites, and 53 residences, The St. Regis Bangkok combines timeless elegance with the cosmopolitan energy of a modern metropolis. The hotel will also be the first hotel in Bangkok to introduce the signature St. Regis butler service to all guests who stay in the hotel, as well as the first Elemis Spa in Thailand.
